DTI Hair Combos Guide

Why hair combos matter more than they should

At runway distance the avatar is mostly an outline, and hair is the part of that outline nearest eye level. It is also the fastest way to date, place or stylise a look — the same dress reads as Old Hollywood with finger waves and as Y2K with crimped half-up hair.

That is why “hair combos” is one of the most-searched DTI topics that has nothing to do with codes: the wardrobe has 57 tagged hairstyles, and combining them multiplies what those 57 can look like.

How combining works

Hairstyles are equipped like other items and count against your 18-item limit (24 with the Increased Item Limit gamepass). Because of that, layering two or three styles is possible — the shapes render together and overlap.

Three practical rules:

  1. Combine one volume style with one texture style. A big shape underneath, a detailed shape on top. Two big shapes usually just fight.
  2. Match or deliberately clash the colour. Same colour reads as one impossible hairstyle; two colours reads as a dye job, which is its own look — useful for Alter Ego.
  3. Budget the slots. Three hairstyles is three items you are not spending on the outfit. Two is usually the sweet spot.

Combinations worth trying

Using styles from the current wardrobe:

  • Volume + braid: Big Hair under Stitch Braids Hair or Fulani Braided Ponytail Hair — reads as braided-over-volume, strong for Folklore and Vikings.
  • Long + updo: Long Wavy Hair with Braided Beehive Hair on top — a period updo with pieces left down, ideal for Rococo and Regency Era.
  • Sleek + accessory hair: Half Up Crimped Hair with Bow Hair — the Y2K and Hopeless Romantic register.
  • Two-tone split: any two styles in contrasting colours, half the head each, for Alter Ego and Manga Muse.
  • Extreme silhouette: stack anything vertical for Visual Kei and Drag, where impossible hair is the theme.

Where hair lives

Hair, makeup and nails are all in Lana’s Salon, a separate area connected to the Standard Dressing Room. Getting there late is the single most common reason players finish a round with default hair — budget your six minutes so you arrive by the 3:30 mark. See how to play for the full build order.

Code hairstyles worth having

Two active codes unlock hair you cannot otherwise get:

  • IBELLASLAY — IBella’s Hair
  • CH00P1E_B4CK_AGA1N — the reworked Choopie set

Both are on the codes page, and code items live in your Dressing Booths rather than the Standard room.
