DTI Face Combos and Makeup Guide

Where makeup actually lives

Makeup, hairstyles and nails are all in Lana’s Salon, a separate area connected to the Standard Dressing Room. This is the single most-skipped part of a round: players build an outfit, run out of the six minutes, and walk the runway with a default face.

Fix it with build order — arrive in the Salon by the 3:30 mark. See how to play for the full timing.

How face combos work

Makeup items occupy item slots like everything else, which means you can equip more than one and let them layer. That is what a “face combo” is: two or three makeup items overlaying into a look that is not available as a single preset.

Three rules that hold up:

  1. One base, one feature. A full-face preset underneath, then a feature item on top — lashes, a lip, a mark. Two full-face presets usually cancel each other out.
  2. Read at distance, not close up. Subtle blending is invisible from the runway. High-contrast eyes and a defined lip read; soft everything reads as nothing.
  3. Match the makeup’s era to the outfit’s. Modern contouring on a Silent Film Star build undoes the whole look faster than any garment mistake.

Makeup worth knowing

The wardrobe carries around 59 tagged makeup items. The ones that do the most theme-defining work:

  • Cracked Doll Makeup — porcelain fracture; carries Cursed Beauty almost single-handedly.
  • 6 Eyes Makeup — extra eyes on an otherwise elegant face.
  • Drag Makeup — sculpted stage face for Drag.
  • Clown MakeupSinister Circus and pop-culture builds.
  • Gothic Makeup (2024 / 2025), Masc Gothic Makeup, Dark Romantic Makeup — the goth family, essential for Visual Kei and Victorian.
  • Corpse Makeup, Stretched Makeup, Vampire Makeup — the horror family.
  • Robot MakeupY3K and Cyberpunk.
  • Attitude Makeup, Kissy Makeup — the sharp modern glamour default.
  • Upset Makeup — genuinely useful for Retail Worker and Grunge.
  • Ethereal Pearl Makeup, Galaxy Glam Makeup — high-shine and prismatic.

Code-only face items

Two active codes unlock face items that cannot be earned in-game:

  • SUBM15CY — Submiscy’s Elegant Lashes and Elegant Necklace
  • CA11MEHHALEY — the CMH Bear set

Both are on the codes page. Code items live in the Dressing Booths, not in the Standard Dressing Room, which is why players sometimes redeem a code and then cannot find the item.

Recent additions

The 4 July 2026 Summer update added 18 new preset makeup looks and 75+ custom makeup additions (the Custom Makeup gamepass), along with 7 new hairstyles. The May 2026 cultural update added 5 new feminine looks, new masculine looks and 43 custom makeup additions. If a guide you find elsewhere lists a much smaller makeup roster, it predates those updates.
