What Drag is asking for

Drag is stage performance, and stage performance is built for distance. Every choice should be legible from the back of a venue: the silhouette is exaggerated, the hair is enormous, the makeup is sculpted rather than natural, and the colour is saturated.

The one rule that decides scores here is commitment. A pretty dress with a bit of glitter is not drag. A silhouette that could not physically be everyday wear, topped with hair twice the size of the head, is.

DTI also added drag makeup and drag-adjacent items during Pride Month 2026, so the wardrobe supports this theme better than it used to.

Building it without VIP

• Drag Makeup is the single most efficient item available — it does the sculpted-face half in one slot.
• Hair: take the largest, tallest, most saturated hairstyle you own. Big Hair, Braided Beehive Hair, Christmas Tree Hair, Fame Monster Hair.
• Silhouette: Huge Ruffle Dress, Eternal Ballgown or a Tutu Skirt stacked over a Layered Skirt for volume.
• Strappy High Heels or platform boots — height matters.
• Feathers, sequins, gloves and oversized jewellery on top of that.
• Any of the Gaga makeup items (Gaga Mayhem, Gaga Born This Way, The Fame) reads correctly on this theme.

Colour and silhouette

Any palette works as long as it is saturated and high-contrast — drag is not a colour theme, it is a proportion theme. Push the silhouette: wider hips, higher hair, longer lashes, bigger shoulders. Asymmetry and one enormous focal element both help.

What loses votes

• Subtlety. The one unforgivable choice here.
• Flat hair. Volume is structural to the look.
• Natural makeup. Sculpted and graphic is the register.
