DTI Style Showdown Guide
What Style Showdown is
Style Showdown released on 1 March 2025. It is a round-based competition mode with challenges and eliminations — closer to a televised drag competition than to a standard runway round. It is capped at 7 players, down from 10 originally.
It is deliberately separate from the standard game mode: different ranks, sometimes different items, and — as the developer Zac has stated — no plan for it to update alongside every main game update. During Summer events it is renamed Summer Showdown.
Rewards include the Style Showdown Gloves, Dress and Headpiece, plus Cash, Stars, XP and Style Stars.
The July 2026 overhaul
The 4 July 2026 update was the largest change the mode has had:
- Style Stars introduced as a separate currency
- A five-rank progression ladder running on Style Stars
- 100+ items added to the Dressing Room rotation
- Walk Packs became changeable from the Pose menu
- Hair and makeup chairs usable in the waiting area
- Finale stage positions randomised
- Winner bonus now scales with how many rounds that game ran
- Hair and makeup are kept when joining with a saved outfit
- Mermaids debuted as a challenge
- Random Item now gives every player a different item
- Red Light Green Light now removes an item when it stuns you
- Frostbite rotated out
The Showdown ranks
Style Showdown has its own short ladder, separate from the 14 main ranks:
| Rank | Style Stars |
|---|---|
| New Contestant | 0 – 40 |
| Runway Rookie | 40 – 90 |
| Entry Competitor | 90 – 175 |
| Chic Challenger | 175 – 350 |
| Top Competitor | 350+ |
Your main rank and your Showdown rank move independently, and progress in one does not affect the other.
How to actually place
The elimination format changes the maths. In a standard round a bad result costs you a few stars; here it ends your game. Practical consequences:
- Survive early, peak late. The winner bonus scales with rounds played, so lasting matters more than winning round one.
- Read the challenge, not just the theme. Challenges like Red Light Green Light actively strip items from you — build outfits that still read if you lose a piece.
- Keep a saved outfit ready. Since the overhaul, hair and makeup carry over when you join with a saved outfit, which is a real time advantage in a mode where every second is contested.
- Use the waiting-area chairs. Doing hair and makeup between rounds is free time that most players waste.
