What Harvest Festival is asking for

Harvest Festival is celebration, warmth and abundance. Think of a village fair after the crop is in: plaid and gingham, chunky cream knits, corduroy, boots, baskets of apples and wheat, sunflowers, and a palette of pumpkin orange, wheat gold and apple red.

The theme sits directly opposite Dark Harvest in the pool. Same season, opposite mood. Dark Harvest is folk horror; Harvest Festival is a hayride. If a voter feels uneasy looking at your outfit, you have crossed into the other theme.

Building it without VIP

• Comfy Sweater or Collared Sweater in cream or rust — chunky knit is the core texture.
• Layered Skirt, Tiered Skirt or Midi Skirt, ideally in plaid if pattern options allow.
• Ankle Boots or any sturdy boot.
• Flower Basket is the single best prop available; an Apple works too.
• Bandana Headband tied at the neck, or a wide-brim hat.
