What Decora is asking for

Decora (デコラ) emerged in Harajuku in the late 1990s and is defined by one principle: more. Hair covered in clips, wrists stacked with plastic bangles, layered knee socks, plush toys clipped to the outfit, stickers on the face, and a colour palette that deliberately clashes. The name comes from “decoration,” and that is literally the assignment.

This is the one theme where restraint is a scoring error. If you can count your accessories quickly, you have not committed.

Building it without VIP

The wardrobe has two purpose-built Decora items behind VIP (Decora Hairclips and Decora Necklace), but the free route is arguably stronger because Decora is about quantity, not quality:

• Fair Kei Top and Fair Kei Skirt — Fair Kei is Decora’s direct sibling subculture and reads correctly.
• Harajuku Top for the base; note the matching Harajuku Skirt is VIP, so pair it with a free Tutu Skirt or Ruffled Mini Skirt instead.
• Then spend every remaining slot on accessories: Basic Hairclips, Cute Hairclips, Bracelet Cluster, Hoop Earrings, Bow, Big Bow, Butterfly, plush and charm items.
• Layered legwear is a genuine Decora signature — stack socks and leg warmers if you can.

You will hit the eighteen-item limit on this theme. That is the correct outcome; the Increased Item Limit gamepass (24 items) is genuinely useful here.

Colour and silhouette

Rainbow pastels that clash on purpose — hot pink next to mint next to lemon. No coordinated palette. Silhouette is short and layered with a lot of visible leg covered in socks. Hair should be bright and preferably twin-tailed.

What loses votes

• Too few accessories. The single scoring axis on this theme.
• A coordinated palette. Matching is against the point.
• Muted pastels. Decora pastels are loud, not soft.
