What Movie Star is asking for

Movie Star is a red-carpet theme, and red-carpet dressing has a specific logic: everything is scaled up for the camera. A train that drags, a slit that reads from a distance, jewellery big enough to catch a flash, and either enormous sunglasses or a lip strong enough to survive a photograph.

• Cocktail length. Red carpet is floor length.
• Too many statement pieces. One focal point photographs; three compete.
